This chemical is used as a dye carrier and as a dielectric fluid in transformers. It is also used in herbicides, heat transfer processes, and in synthetic transformer oils. Other uses include a degreaser, a lubricant, and a solvent for making chemicals. At one time, 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene was used to kill termites.
