During the deepest stages of the Great Depression, a young businessman once walked into a modest George Daubert gas station in Chicago. He asked how he could prevent his steel coils from rusting during storage. Not knowing about such a product, George began mixing and testing various petroleum formulations until he managed to develop a formula that worked adequately and which he would then market to other industrial customers.
