Ortho-benzyl-para-chlorophenol is Category III for acute oral and dermal toxicity, and Category IV for acute inhalation toxicity. Ortho- benzyl-para-chlorophenol is severely irritating to the eye (Category I), and is corrosive with repeated contact to the skin.
