Isopropyl alcohol is found as common ingredient in detergents, antiseptics, and disinfectants in today's World. In order to produce isopropyl alcohol, water and propane are combined in a hydration reaction (direct or indirect hydration). Alternatively, it is also produced by hydrogenation of acetone.
