Isophthalic resin is a representative of the class of polyester resins, a solution of the product of polycondensation carried out with isophthalic acid, phthalic, maleic anhydride and various glycols in styrene. Isophthalic resin is often used instead of orthophthalic resin due to increased requirements for products, both in terms of chemical resistance and physical and mechanical characteristics.
