Glyceryl monostearate is classified as an emulsifying and thickening agent. It is mainly used in the food and cosmetics industries. Glyceryl monostearate is made on the basis of stearic acid and palmitic acid, it has a white or cream color with a characteristic greasy odor. It occurs in solid form, usually in flakes (flakes) with a wax-like consistency. It is soluble in mineral oils when heat is applied, as well as in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether and acetone.
