Chlorine kills bacteria – it is a disinfectant. It is used to treat drinking water and swimming pool water. It is also used to make hundreds of consumer products from paper to paints, and from textiles to insecticides. About 20% of chlorine produced is used to make PVC.

In the modern world progress of a country is mainly dependent on petroleum products. We are laying far behind in this field. No other petrochemical products are at all not available in the country. We are dependent on imports for other petrochemical products. MGI has taken up this project to construct PVC plant and a PET plant which will start its commercial production in 2021 under the name of Meghna PVC Ltd. After startup, its production MGI will succeed in catering 60% of countries PVC and PET market.
