Catalytic enantioselective alkylation of the benzophenone imine of glycine t-butyl ester using phosphazene (Schwesinger) bases and chiral quaternary ammonium salts yields either enantiomer of amino acid derivatives in excellent yield. - Useful in the preparation of nitrile yield dimmers.
