Nickel Sulphate is an inorganic compound which finds application in molecular biology and biochemistry processes. It is naturally obtained as copper refining by-product and can also be prepared by dissolution of nickel metal in sulfuric acid. This compound has chemical formula NiSO4 with molar mass of 154.75 g/mol in anhydrous form with melting point of less than 100 degrees Celsius. It appears as green-blue crystals in heptahydrate form with good water solubility. Nickel Sulphate is also soluble in alcohol with density of 1.948 g/cm3 and odorless nature. It also finds application in polyhistidine tagging and for preparation of Mohr’s salt as well.
