H2SO4 is a colorless, pure liquid, specific gravity 1.859 at 0 oC and 1.837 at 15 oC, depending on impurities it is yellow, gray or brown. When cooled, it will solidify into molten crystals at 10.49 oC. However, liquid acids can easily freeze and not solidify below 0 oC. At 30 - 40 oC, it begins to smoke and when heated further, SO3 vapor will be produced. Boiling begins at 290 oC and the temperature will increase rapidly until the release of SO3 stops. The remaining hydrate contains 98.3% H2SO4 and boils at 338 oC.
