Calcined kaolin is obtained by high-temperature processing of kaolin (1000-1150 C), without changing the mineralogical composition and the formation of sillimanite and mullite. At this temperature, the amorphous structure of metakaolin is completely destroyed. Calcined kaolin has high color and optical properties, matting properties and hiding power, increased hardness (up to 3-4 units) and specific gravity up to 2.6-2.7 g/cm3.
