My Journey through DEPRESSION, anxiety and worry

Until the age of 44, I had NEVER gone through the phase of depression, anxiety and worry. 

 

Until my parents were alive, I had full emotional support during the thick and thin of life. 

 

Last 2 years, I went through some difficult times. 

 

Here are some setbacks which put me under pressure and took me to the phase of depression, anxiety and worry, 

 

  • Our projects in Qatar, shutdown which damaged us financially and we had to let go all our team and sold off our office. 

  • Over 14 years, I did work on software solutions which I have to give up as we did not had buyers for it 

  • Chemical trading busines was not going well and we are barely doing few deals in a year which is not enough

  • Since I moved to India, I had no consultancy project which I used to get while living in Norway.

  • Source of income got almost ZERO

  • In India, I moved to a small place, about 30 Km from Kolkata which I find it dirty.

  • Tried to find opportunities in Middle East but did not had any luck yet

  • Some of my close family members betrayed which was NEVER expected in my wildest dream.

  • Lost my parents 

  • Bought a land to establish a warehouse but the land owner cheated by selling a land where we cant construct warehouse. 

  • Land issue took me to court and police domain which was frustrating, humiliating and waste of time.

  • Local corrutpion issue in West Bengal brought another set of challenges

  • Moved to live in a small house, and filthy neighbourhood which was never a part of my dream.  

  • Our startup was not generating any revenue

  • ++

 

All these piled ups and put me under pressure which took me to the stage of deep thinking, worry, and some days/months of depression. 

 

I know that you have nothing to do with my problems and I have no rights to bring them in public.

 

However, the objective is to write about what I learnt from this dark phase of life so that few of you who read, can learn and skip the mistakes which I made. 

 

Here are my learnings going through the phase of worry:

 

  • NEVER have any expectation from anyone as 99% of your contacts will disappear when you are in the stage of thin. 

  • Keep the control of personal finance as there are people who can throw you out of your own house and account. 

  • Time is more powerful than anyone. 

  • Affirm your gratitude everyday

  • Read books and take care for close friends and family who really matters to you

  • Love your family the most and prioritize your health which is the most important aspect of life. 

  • Ignore, forgive and move on.

  • Keep distance from bad and negetive people
  • If you are dealing with some unethical people then better dont involve yourself directly and hire someone of that type who know how to handle those unethical and corrupt 
  • Careful with people who is nice during good time but run away in tough time. 
  • God is there and be thankful to him for what you have. However, DONT expect that he is going to help you.
